Configure Dialup Account
Please follow the following steps to change the settings for your dialup account on a stand alone machine. These instructions are not for a machine connected to a network.
Step #1

  1. Click the Start button. Select Settings. Select Control Panel.
  2. Double click Network.
  3. Make sure the following network components are installed (they will show in the network components list). If they are not listed use the Add button to add them.
    1. Client for Microsoft Networks
    2. Dialup Adapter
    3. TCP/IP
  4. Make sure File and Printer Sharing is disabled.
  5. Primary Network Logon should be set to Windows Logon.

Close this dialog box. You will prompted to reboot. Please do so at this time. If you would like your password to be automatically filled in at login, leave the password field blank at your next login and confirm it. You will not be asked for your password again during bootup.

  1. Double click on My Computer on the desktop.

  2. Double click on Dialup Networking.
  3. Name your connection (i.e.. MTC).
  4. Enter the appropriate toll free access number for your area.
  5. Click on Finish.
  6. Right click on the new connection. Left click on Properties..

This step is critical! Do Not Skip it!

  1. Under Server Types uncheck everything except TCP/IP at the bottom.

  2. Click OK.

  1. Everything is server assigned on the MapleNet system, so you should be able to leave these settings at there default. Just make sure the bottom two buttons are checked.
